Situated on the opposite side of the Rhône River to its more famous cousin, Châteaneuf-du-Pape, the Lirac appellation enjoys the same soils and produces wines of extraordinary flavour and value. The Clos de Sixte Lirac (50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre) is intense in colour and has a long silky finish that is full of black and red fruit characteristics with hints of liquorice, spice and wild herbs.
