Dom. Romuald Petit Morgon “Vieilles Vignes” Gamay 2024

This wine is a soulful and expressive Morgon crafted by Romuald Petit from old Gamay vines, some as old as 60 to 100 years. On the nose, it reveals floral notes of iris and peony mingled with dark red and black berries and a hint of spice, especially white pepper. 

The palate demonstrates structure and depth with supple tannins, lively acidity and a refined texture thanks to its élevage in cement vats. A slight granite minerality from the vineyard’s sandy granite (“arène”) soils gives it an energetic lift. 

 This is a wine that bridges freshness and maturity.  Delicious in its youth but crafted to age, this wine is ideal alongside grilled meats or a cheese platter.
