Chateau Mazane Vacqueyras GSM 2013

Made on a 50 year old, 22 acre, single vineyard, this wine consists of three main varieties Grenache 60% 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. The grapes are grown in fields stretching over a plateau of scrub land located between the terraces of the Ouvèze (a tributary of the Rhone) and the Dentelles de Montmirail, in a terroir of pebbles, the soil debris of the Dentelles de Montmirail and clay.

The wine has a deep, intense hue, aromas of fresh black fruit and grilled herbs. On the palate, the richness of the tannins harmonizes with the smoothness of the wine. The finish is long, with spice aromas and licorice. 

Drinking beautifully now, it matches perfectly with meat and cheese.
